What is a rookie card (RC)?
A rookie card is a players first appearance on a regular issue card
from one of the major card companies.

What is a XRC?
A XRC is an early card from a player that appears in a non
traditional set. These are also known as extended rookie cards and
are found in traded and update sets.

What is the new definition of a rookie card as of "2006"?
Beginning with the "2006" card season a rookie card will be defined as a base card of a player who is making their major league 25 man roster debut this season. Because the rosters expand on Sept. 1st, players making their debut then or later are not eligible until the early releases of the next card season. All rookie cards will have a logo on the card front stating "Rookie Card".

What is a insert card?
A insert card is a card that comes in a pack that is not part of the main set.

What is a parallel card?
A parallel card is a special insert card that features the same photo as the regular card, but has other distinguishing features such as die- cutting or serial numbering.
